Melissa heard about the tragedy of the Haiti Earthquake and how devastating it was for the children.  She decided that one child can do something about it.  Melissa began by telling her school principal that she wanted to collect children books and color crayons to send to the children of Haiti. But she didn't stop there she then gave a moving speech at her church asking for more donations.  She did and they agreed to ship her donated items for free. Then she contacted a local Cub Scout Pack and they also agreed to donate books, stuffed animals and toiletries to her cause.  Melissa then collected a truck full of donated goods and arranged through her church to ship it to Haiti to help the children. 

 

Melissa was not finished she decided to launch a web site so kids around the World could help donate for kids in need.  She contacted Feed the Children and liked the programs that they support.  She was able to arrange for donations raised at Feed the Children that originated through her web site to be tabulated and credited to KidsDonateHope.
